# Unlock ADB on your BYD

Strike needs authorized local ADB on the head unit. Some cars ship with that access locked.

If you own the car and want help, ask in [Discord](https://discord.gg/DTBZRgHX3s). A small fee may apply. Confirm the amount before anything is done.

This is head-unit ADB access. It does not unlock doors, start the car, or bypass the vehicle's locks. Strike itself never locks or unlocks the car.

If ADB is already on, you do not need this. [Install Strike](/#get-started) and authorize the debugging prompt if the app asks.
